During this week our prayers are that you will receive Father’s Love and come to know your place as God's son/daughter.
The week is not a counselling week; we are not counsellors. The aim of the school is to provide you with a firm foundation in the Biblical revelation of knowing God as Father and create space for you to encounter and experience this love.
The retreat will be led by John MacDonald and Mark Gyde with the Father's Love (Scotland) team, all of whom are experienced retreat leaders and ministers. The retreat sessions will be taught in English. Unfortunately there will be no translators available.
Teaching topics include The Heart of the Father, Forgiveness from the Heart, Being a Son, God's Heart of Nurture, The Nature of Love, The Father Revealed and more. The sessions will include teaching, meditation/soaking times, prayer ministry and communal life.
PLEASE BE AWARE IF YOU ARE BRINGING CHILDREN YOU WILL NEED TO ENSURE SOMEONE WILL BE CARING FOR THEM TO AVOID DISTRACTING YOU TOO MUCH DURING THE SESSIONS, AS THERE IS NO CHILD CARE PROVIDED.
All meals (including tea, coffee etc) and accommodation are included in the cost (unless you choose to provide your own accommodation. Then only lunch and dinner is included along with teas and coffees) as well as fees and a copy of John MacDonald's book Loved to Life. Audio recording of all sessions will be made available for download.
Jesus had the heart of a son to his Father as he lived in the love of the Father. John's Gospel tells us that everything that He said and did was what He saw and heard His Father doing. Jesus invites us to enter that world as brothers and sisters of Him. As we open our hearts, Father pours His love into them through the Holy Spirit. In a heart transformed by His love, true and lasting change can occur.
Each day there will be sessions in the morning, afternoon and evening and you will need to attend all of these to obtain the full benefit of the retreat. Unlike a conference, where you can pick and choose which sessions you attend, we see the retreats as one long session punctuated by meals, soaking sessions and social interaction. During the retreat we believe you will make many lifelong friendships.
A RESOURCES TABLE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR BOOK/CD PURCHASES
Should the government change the rules and the event is cancelled by the venue or ourselves, participants will be offered two options.
1. A full refund (including deposit)
2. An online event with a partial refund
Should participants cancel their booking a refund can be made, though the deposit will be retained by Father's Love (Scotland)
John became a believer in 1985 after an encounter with God at a Church of Scotland Service in Glasgow (U.K.)
He has served as Pastor at two churches in Staffordshire (England) and Glasgow (Scotland). In addition he has been involved in and led prophetic ministry, healing ministry as well as having served in various leadership roles in local church.
In 2005 he had an encounter with the Lord which had a profound effect upon him. After a process with God he heard the Lord call him 'Son' and that encounter (which is ongoing) has revolutionised his whole life and ministry.
John is convinced that Sonship, living as Jesus did, is the call and core of Christian life. It is the burden of his heart that all people are made aware of the Father's burning desire for his offspring; that all encounter his embrace just as the lost son did (Luke 15:20).
My story of relating to God as Father began in 1982 at a youth camp in the Lake District. One of the leaders, Dave Richards who is now a pastor in Basingstoke Community Church, came over and made a simple prophetic statement along the lines: "Mark - you have learned to be a servant but God wants you to know that you are a son and He is your Father". .. ... I knew that, not only did God want to be a Father to me but that HE ACTUALLY WAS! I found a greater level of intimacy with God that I believe has completely changed my understanding and experience of Him. Many of us have a good understanding of God as Father but that becoming an experience and a lifestyle is something completely different. Since then we have been on a journey of the heart, allowing our hearts to come alive and our passion for the Father to grow.
Our main speakers, John & Mark will be joined by an experienced ministry team who will impart something of Father's Love as they walk through this week with you

It is a time when we cease from all activity and come before God in stillness and rest.
The concept of soaking is not a new one. In the past this was done mostly in silence. St Teresa of Avila and St John of the Cross both speak so eloquently about being in His Presence.
There were no CDs or MP3s back in those days. Now we have a wealth of music to enable us to enter that place of quiet reflection with the Lord.
Soaking is not an emptying of the mind as practiced by followers of Eastern religion. It is neither mindless nor emotionless. Rather, it is the filling of our mind, body, spirit and emotion with His presence. It is our time to ‘lean on His breast’ as John did (John 21:20) and for our ‘heart to burn within us’ as did the disciples when they encountered Jesus on the road to Emmaus (Luke24:32).”
Our aim is that people leave these sessions saying, “I have stilled and quietened my soul; like a weaned child with its mother”(Ps131:2)
